Practice
I am a member of group of providers from around the U.S. who are committed to practicing deep listening, helping people in the ways they wish to be helped, and human rights. We meet regularly to explore topics including misdiagnosis, common misunderstandings about extreme states such as psychosis and suicidal ideation, helping people who experience suicidal ideation and extreme states in a way that respects their dignity and autonomy, side effects from medications, working in a collaborative, inclusive way with clients and their families, and looking beyond diagnosis to understand how individuals' mental health challenges are rooted in social and environmental factors.
I practice meditation, movement, and expressive arts regularly, sometimes by myself and often with others. This supports my ability to help clients express themselves, cultivate mindfulness, and connect with their inner wisdom.
Areas of Speciality
I specialize in working with clients who feel misunderstood and experience shame, perfectionism, burnout due to masking, rejection sensitivity, difficulty with emotional/somatic regulation, executive functioning differences, and/or challenges establishing trusting relationships. Many clients who come to see me identify as gifted, autistic, and/or individuals with ADHD or learning disabilities, or they are simply interested in exploring the ways their minds work and how they experience the world. I work with children (ages 8+), teenagers, and adults.
My Training Includes:
Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) Courses
Authentic Movement
Introduction to Alternatives to Suicide
Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART)
Expressive Arts Therapy Courses
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
